Mention Scrivener to another writer, and you’re likely to get a strong opinion. But there’s a reason this writing software is so beloved. Jess Capelle wants to show you how it can completely change your writing life for the better (minus a big learning curve).

Jess will cover the basics for every step of the writing process from brainstorming to formatting. You’ll learn how to best use the built-in outline and corkboard features and organize your research and character information. In the middle of a draft? She’ll show you how to import existing projects as well as start a new one. She’ll even share some cool features you didn’t know you needed in your writing life!

While previous knowledge of Scrivener is not a requirement for this presentation, it will be helpful to go to www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener and download a trial version of the software so you can follow along or at least familiarize yourself with the format (the trial gives you 30 days of use, however long that takes you). Jess will cover basic and intermediate level tips for both PC and Mac versions of Scrivener.

Jessica (“Jess”) Capelle writes non-fiction, poetry, and suspenseful stories across genres. In addition to her own work, she has been a ghostwriter for multiple authors who, sadly, do not write about ghosts. Luckily, her alter ego, Jessa Dean, brings all the ghosts to her books for kids, including the upcoming THE GHOSTLY TALES OF SLEEPY HOLLOW (May 2020). Jess lives in the Houston area, where her day job in law proves truth is stranger than fiction. She can usually be found with coffee in hand and a cat by her side.
