SCBWI Anti-Harassment Policy
Houston SCBWI takes the safety and well being of our members seriously. All attendees, volunteers, and faculty must agree to SCBWI’s Anti-Harassment Policy in order to complete registration.
Where is the conference being held?
ONLINE! Attendees will receive links in the week prior to the conference.
What are the Conference Registration Dates?
Exclusive Houston SCBWI Registration opens Saturday August 1, 2020 and closes at midnight CST Sunday, August 9, 2020 and is open only to current members of the Houston Chapter.
Regular registration opens Monday, August 10, 2020 and closes noon CST Thursday, October 1, 2020. Regular registration is open to all members and non-members of SCBWI.
This conference spans multiple days. Can I attend only one day for a reduced cost?
Because this year’s conference is online and more affordable than an in-person event we decided to eliminate the option to select between a full conference or a Saturday/Sunday attendance. The hope is that this format will provide our Attendees with a high level of value for the cost during this difficult time.
I’m registered, but I can’t remember my critique faculty. How can I access my registration?
Log into the SCBWI.org website to access your conference registration details. Click on “My Home” in the top right corner, then click “Event History” on the left side of the page. Choose the Houston SCBWI 2020 Annual Conference to view your registration details.
After I am registered, how can I add to or change my registration?
If you’d like to add a critique to your registration, please email Bruce Foster, the Houston Registrar. You will need to send a check to cover additional fees.
Is there an anti-harassment policy for the conference?
Yes! SCBWI has an anti-harassment policy that ALL attendees, volunteers, and faculty must agree to before they can attend. The anti-harassment policy is given in the registration form, and you can read it here. Additionally, if you have any issues during the conference, please contact Regional Advisor Meghan Senkel, Assistant Regional Advisor Lynne Kelly, or Illustrator Coordinator Diandra Mae for help.
How much does the conference cost?
The Houston SCBWI 2020 Conference has been priced in consideration of the economic hardships facing many of our members. In addition, we’re hoping it’s an opportunity for those unsure about whether SCBWI is a good fit for them to see what our region has to offer for a low-risk price. We’d love for everyone within our community to register and see what we’re about!
