In addition, you can choose multiple critiques with Local Authors (face to face) and also choose multiple e-critiques with Agents and Editors (written critique only, not face to face). Please read the bios or each critiquer before you register to ensure your manuscript fits the genre and age group that they are critiquing.

MANUSCRIPTS WILL BE DUE AUGUST 25, 2018.

REMEMBER ALL REGISTRANTS WILL BE ABLE TO SUBMIT TO FACULTY AGENTS, EDITORS, AND ART DIRECTOR AFTER THE CONFERENCE.

The Saturday conference will be all day and will be organized with Keynote addresses, panels, and choice of four interest tracks in breakout sessions. Houston SCBWI Diversity Scholarship
Thanks to the generosity of agent Saba Sulaiman of Talcott Notch Literary Services and Steven Salpeter literary agent with Curtis Brown Ltd., the Houston SCBWI is able to offer two full conference scholarships to members from a marginalized/underrepresented population. Writers and illustrators whose race, ethnicity, religion, sexual preference, disabilities, etc., are underrepresented in children’s/YA literature may apply.
UPDATE: We are pleased to announce there are TWO winners for our first Diversity Scholarships. Congratulations to Alda Dobbs and Sanjeevi Adhihetty! Thanks to all who submitted. “It’s exciting to see such talent and I am sure we will see much success from all of you in the future. Good luck to everyone and thank you for your participation. It was an honor to read your work.” Vicki Sansum, RA Houston.
