Silent Auctions and Door Prizes
Back by popular demand is SCBWI-Houston's Fabulous Silent Auction. Items include free SCBWI conference registrations, autographed books, and much more. Use cash or checks to pay for the items you win in auction. All proceeds go to the Houston SCBWI scholarship fund. Door prizes will be given out to attendees throughout the day.
Items up for bid are one-of-a-kind art pieces as well as original illustrations and prints. All of the proceeds from the Silent Art Auction go to future SCBWI illustrator events. Payment must be in the form of cash or check. Contact Carmela Simmons if you like to donate an original illustration or print. It does not have to be connected to the conference theme, or children's literature, but keep in mind those pieces that do have a connection to the industry, childhood, or pop culture tend to sell well.
